LAP hosts Town Hall meeting With Finance Minister
The Liberian community in PA under the auspices of the Liberian Embassy in Washington DC will host this year’s July 26th independence day ceremony. This year’s ceremony is expected
to bring together Liberians and well wishers from across the United States to the City of Philadelphia.
According to the organizing committee, the three days ceremony will commence on Friday, July 25, 2014 beginning with a welcome event and the Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant. read more by visiting the July 26 celebration website at www.celebratejuly26.org.
The leadership of the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania say thank you to Mr. Heslin, Ms Lindsay Heslin and the Upper Darby pain management center for their donation in the amount of $1,300 to the community center. Thanks to Salim from money gram for delivering the strong message from moneygram to LAP. Thanks to the president of UNIBOA, UNICCO, POCSA and Secretary general of River Gee County Association for their support and attending the meeting. Join us in a Town Hall style meeting as Finance Minister Amara Konneh outlines some of the Socio-economic Impact of Ebola and how the Government prevented a near economic collapse. Minister Konneh will also detail Liberia's Economic Stabilization and Recovery Plan.

The leadership of the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania extend its compliments and is happy to inform the community of its new initiative in recognizing the talents of our children. It is happy to announce that the second annual youth talent show is fast approaching. The date and details will be announced soon. Last year talent show was a success. It was held at the ACANA Hall. The event highlights the talent of children ages 3 to 15. The show will allows children the opportunity to showcase their talent to the community.
I greet all of you this morning with a special request. Over the last couple of weeks, the leadership of the Liberian Association in Pennsylvania updated you all on the status of the community center. The bathroom is completed and waiting for the Philadelphia water department to connect the water line. The electrical lines are connected and ready
